ERIN / Snoqualmie Seattle Portrait photographer

As some of you might know, I’ve been practising Bikram and Vinyasa Yoga for quite some time now. The journey has been tedious and rewarding at the same time, especially that I’m dealing with elbow arthritis (from two biking accidents at 10 years old and at 23, making me a candidate for elbow replacement). But one of the things that I’m thankful for, aside from the slow road to healing, is getting to know some really inspiring yoga instructors.

Erin Knowles is one of them. I met her through the YMCA here in Snoqualmie when I did the staff headshots. I captured her images to document her favorite poses ( I told her that she’s good at what she does, so it’s time to show ‘em off!).

She gave me a few pointers about headstand (I’m very scared of inversions…eek!) and arm balances, and I’m slowly getting it, thanks to her.

The journey will be hard, yet I’m thankful for all the things that I’ve experienced so far. The photos of Erin below will always remind me of the goals that I’ve set in Yoga and in life, and the little successes that I have experienced along the way :) Namaste.
